Below are a few pieces of beautiful china made by R.S.Prussia that
Aunt Deb has collected. The mark on the back of the R. S. Prussia (R. S. P.) porcelain is composed of
wreath with rust-red
lettering of the initials R.S. (inside the wreath) and the word Prussia (with a period) beneath the wreath.
Erdmann Schlegelmilch’s porcelain factory was established in Suhl, Turingia in 1861, and Reinhold Schlegelmilch’s
china factory was founded in Tillowitz, Silesia in 1869. Both were in the Germanic region generally known as
Prussia prior to World War I. It is thought that the "R. S." was for their father Rudolph Schlegelmilch and primarily
used by Reinhold at Tillowitz and later at Suhl.
